Accumulation of cadmium, copper and zinc in selected natural Viola taxa in Turkish Mediterranean serpentine soils

نویسندگان

چکیده

Currently, 55 serpentine areas have been determined in Turkey. More than 60 Ni-accumulators and more 43 serpentine-endemics are known from these areas. Within our field studies the Mediterranean phytogeographic region, 8 Viola taxa distributed their respective soil samples were collected. Cd, Cu, Zn concentrations of plant investigated. After digested microwave, metal measurements made using a ICP-OES device. As result measurements, none collected different localities found to be hyperaccumulators. However, it was that kizildaghensis has an accumulator feature terms Zn.

Phytoextraction of cadmium, copper, zinc and mercury by selected plants

During the years 2006 and 2007 the phytoextraction ability of maize (Zea mays), willow-tree (Salix smithiana) and poplar (Populus nigra × P. maximowiczii) to accumulate cadmium, copper, mercury and zinc was investigated. Small scale field experiment was carried out on soil contaminated with chemicals from the waste incineration plant in Hradec Kralové (Czech republic). Screening of this allotme...

Chemical Fractionation of Cadmium, Copper, Nickel, and Zinc in Contaminated Soils

Heavy metals are potentially toxic to human life and the environment. Metal toxicity depends on chemical associations in soils. For this reason, determining the chemical form of a metal in soils is important to evaluate its mobility and hioavailability . Sequential extraction was used to fractionate four heavy metals (Cd, Cu, Ni, and Zn) from nine contaminated soils into six operationally defin...
